Product Decomposition

Three of my fellow classmates and I tore-down a Handheld sewing machine! Included in the teardown was:

  • Analysis of the design of the product
  • Observations of unbiased users
  • Creation of a task analysis based on the observations
  • Disassembly of the product
  • Product decomposition documentation
  • Product function structure
  • Assembled SolidWorks Model with exploded view
My teammates were wonderful during the entire process, and we collaborated very well to finish the project in a timely manner. I, myself, worked on every step of this process, and worked on the SolidWorks assembly alone. Look at the slideshow to the left to see our results!
